Carlos Queiroz Leaves Iran

No comments :

Former Real Madrid manager, Carlos Queiroz has resigned his position of manager of the Iranian National team just months after signing a contract extension with the Asians.
Carlos Queiroz came to prominence as Sir Alex Ferguson’s right hand man at Manchester United before he went on to manage Real Madrid and Portugal before taking the job at Iran in 2011. Queiroz has been impressive for Iran in recent years, taking them to the quarter finals of the Asian championships earlier in the year. Following a 3-1 loss in a friendly game to Sweden however, Queiroz felt it was time to call it quits “After four years of work with the national team, I am proud of the team and the individual players,” Queiroz said. “Now I am sad to leave the team, but that’s life and I’m happy to be moving forward.” The Iranian football association are yet to release an official statement.
Iran would now be in the market for a new manager as they prepare for qualifiers in a few weeks. Queiroz on the other hand would have no shortage of clubs and countries looking for his services.
