Jonathan meets with security chiefs

President Goodluck Jonathan early today  held a meeting with Security Chiefs at the Presidential Villa.

Although details of the meeting were not disclosed, it was learnt that the issue of handover notes ahead of the May 29 inauguration of the incoming administration of General Muhammadu Buhari as well as efforts to rescue the over 200 schoolgirls of Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State abducted by the Boko Haram sect over a year ago were part of the agenda.

The schoolgirls were abducted April 14 last year and are yet to be rescued by security agencies.
The National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki had on the anniversary of the abduction, assured that Sambisa forest would be liberated and  that the girls would be rescued by the military before May 29.

The security chiefs did not speak with State House Correspondents on the outcome of the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh; Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant- General Kenneth Minimah; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin;

Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu;

Also in attendance were Inspector General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba; Director-General, Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Ita Ekpeyong and Director-General, National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayo Oke
Ministers in attendance include Abduljelili Adesiyan (Police Affairs); General Aliyu Gusau (Defence); Ambassador Aminu Wali (Foreign Affairs) and Comrade Abba Moro (Internal Affairs)
