The Bayern Munich manager was left red-faced after ripping his trousers during the Champions League clash against FC Porto at the Allianz Arena.
After last week’s horror show in Portugal, the pressure was on Bayern Munich to overturn a 3-1 deficit and qualify for the semi-finals of the Champions League. And much of the attention was on manager Pep Guardiola, who had blamed injuries for his side’s dismal performance against Porto.
The Spaniard was accused of making excuses for his team’s dire showing and things began to unravel behind the scenes at the Bavarian club, with club doctor Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt quitting after apparently being slammed for the loss.
So, all eyes were on Guardiola for the second leg, but the German champions soon allayed any fears of a quarter-final exit as they swept past Porto with a dazzling first-half performance.
